Training for Your GHS HazCom Compliance Webinar is designed to help you comply with the Dec. 1, 2013 OSHA GHS employee training requirements. In March 2012 OSHA revised its Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom) to align it with the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). Under the GHS revisions, among other things, all employers must ensure that all workers who “may be exposed” to chemical products are trained regarding the new label elements and safety data sheet (SDS) format by Dec. 1, 2013. This training requirement covers employers whose employees “may be exposed to hazardous chemicals under normal operating conditions or in foreseeable emergencies.” As a consequence the Dec. 1, 2013 training requirement applies to:
· Manufacturers
· Distributors
· Cleaning Service Providers
The ISSA Training for Your GHS HazCom Compliance is designed to be a “Train the Trainer” session as well as directly train your employees who “may be exposed” to chemicals such as:
· Cleaning personnel (in-house and contracted);
· Warehouse staff that handle closed containers of cleaning products;
· Manufacturing line personnel
